NEW MUSIC: RITUALZ – III (INSTRUMENTAL)

We had Fostercare’s Low yesterday. This was half of a split LP. The other side is by †‡† aka. Ritualz. If yesterday was numbed urban drone, this is the opposite. This is upbeat dance, revelling in the glittering urban landscape. Despite the Ibiza beats, it still manages to retain a slight air of darkness – a price to be paid for the fun. Great track.

Blurb: †‡† Aka. Ritualz hails from Mexico and despite preferring to stay reclusive and obscure, has managed to build a respectable reputation in under a year. Not long after posting his first track on MySpace, Disaro Records offered to release his debut EP. †‡†’s standout track Misery Walk was recently featured on Robot Elephant Records, Disaro Witch House compilation -ISVOLT, opening him up globally, to a wider audience. Admirers of †‡† include Witch House originator Pictureplane and LA’s noise-rock four-piece HEALTH, who have included †‡† tracks in several mix tapes, including most recently for VICE Magazine. The ‘Dark Raver’, as he is sometimes known, effortlessly showcases his Ibiza-ready dance-floor tunes, with dark brooding noise drones; shoe-gaze aesthetics and hip hop beats, showing all rules are made to be broken.
