NEW MUSIC: Goodwill and Hook N Sling – Take You Higher (Simon Sh:Out Remix)
A free download from Simon Sh:Out, who was here only a few days ago with his Supercharged track. He’s back with a remix of Goodwill & Hook N Sling.
The original track is a sort of Coldplay-lite, with synths and a vocal that reminds me of David Gray. Simon Sh:Out gives it a progressive house remix. In many ways, this is a gentle remix treatment. The structure of the song remains largely in place and the dance elements pretty restrained, apart from some swooshing, until the break finally arrives half way in. You want a bit of bass to give it some grit. The original track is a bit sickly sweet and the remix retains that problem.
