REMIXING CLASSICS: Orbital-Halcyon-MyagiRemix(Datadex DanielSon Rerub)

Here’s a remix of a remix of the classic Orbital track Halcyon. For free download.

You might remember Myagi made available for free download his remix (post here). I was a bit lukewarm, saying “this remix isn’t too bad, perhaps because it doesn’t mess too much with the essence of the original.” Datadex have remixed that remix. They toughen the whole thing up and give it a stronger breaks feel. Whilst this takes it, in part, further away from the original, it results in a better remix that stands more on its own two feet. My only quibble is the need for the crowd sample, which they say is to “re-create that classic Orbital festival moment! ” Hmmm…

Thanks to Andrew (Myagi) himself for giving us the nod on making this available for public download. Myagi is an absolute genius his remix as you can see is amazing ! Such a classic Orbital Tune reworked with just the right amount of action whilst keeping the original euphoric feel ! We decided to put our own little spin on it, adding some heavier artillery to the break some new samples with gated vox complete with crowd appreciation sample to re-create that classic Orbital festival moment !
