NEW MUSIC: Imogen Heap – Closing In (Mt. Eden and Loz Contreras Remix)

Bit surprised I haven’t posted anything by Mt Eden before. The NZ duo of Jesse Cooper and Harley Rayner make dubstep/dnb. They’re pretty prolific on Soundcloud but with good quality control, lots of free downloads and little stuff to buy. Here’s three downloadable tracks.

First a remix of Imogen Heap’s Closing In. This has a dnb sound similar to High Contrast’s remix of Adele in not trying to have beats too hard for the vocals. Although unlike High Contrast most of the vocals are removed and what’s left is pushed far into the background, leaving something cheerfully dnb radio friendly.

They’re not afraid of going for cheesy trance classics, like Chicane’s Salt Water and giving them a dubstep makeover.

And finally, the track that I heard first, which gives Sarah McLachlan’s slightly syrupy original a bit of dubstep brutality.
