NEW MUSIC: Krakota – Scraper / Tunnel Vision

Since it’s DNB week, some new dnb from Krakatoa, out on Ingredients Records. Two tracks to listen (sorry clips only) and buy from 23 Jan – and one for free download.

Krakota is Sebastian Ingwood from Bournemouth, on England’s South Coast. Hardly a known hotbed of drum and bass. Anyhow, let’s start with the free download. Be Myself is a lovely fast, bass driven thing with a sweet vocal to lighten the darkness. Scraper is an instrumental track, which immediately makes it sounder darker and more urgent. He sure knows how to use the bass but isn’t afraid to lighten it with some almost-rave synth stabs. The key track here. Tunnel Vision is more of the same but less dark, and somehow less essential.

The double A side starts with

Blurb: With releases on C.I.A, Critical over the last six months, Krakota at only 21 has set the standard high. From his musical beginnings in early 2000 he began by playing various instruments including drums and piano, he started dj’ing at 15and quickly moved on to making electronic music in 2006. Spending many, many nights in his home studio he began to evolve his sound into deeper more technical styles before his first release in 2010 on C.I.A. His clean bass heavy productions can be heard regularly with support from artists such as , Fabio, DJ Hype, Total Science, A.I, Spectrasoul and many more. As a diverse and talented DJ, his live sets are largely built on exclusive and upfront material – expect the full spectrum of fresh drum & bass. 2011 is set to be a big year for him, with forthcoming releases on Ingredients and Integral.
