NEW MUSIC: Alexander Robotnick – Archives Vol 3

New EP out from Alexander Robotnick, who’s featured here before. These are all reworks of older tracks. The one worth highlighting is Sharper Bluesman. Which is a pretty good name and is also the best track. It sits somewhere on the techno electro border. But in an old sense, rather than a contemporary squalling bass sense. Chuggable grooving.

And for those that are interested, his cover of Chic’s Le Freak, which left me as cold as the original

Blurb: Active on the music scene for about 30 years, Alexander Robotnick has produced an impressive amount of music. Starting with Avida, the first band he put together whose early 80s unreleased tracks have been recently published by Creme Organization, to the latest digital releases by his label, Hot Elephant Music. ‘Robotnick’s Archives Volume 1’ was released in December with Volume 2 out this month. Volume 3 is released in February and features 3 tracks: ‘Serenade’ (minimal-electro) that includes vocals by Robotnick and was originally recorded in 1986, ‘Sharper Bluesman’ (electro-house) from 2004 and ‘Le Freak’, a cover of the famous track by Chic, with vocals by Alexander Robotnick, from 2000.
