CATURDAY: Beaumont Hannant

Something from the early 90s, from the too often overlooked but actually quite brilliant Beaumont Hannant.

He produced two albums – both called Notions of Tonality – of quite wonderful IDM on GPR and a handful of singles. Then he joined with Richard Brown to become Outcast Productions with a more trip hop style, did a couple of remixes and then nothing. I did try to research what he had done since when I was doing my alphabetical adventures but to no avail. So, if anyone knows anything about what became of him, do let me know.

In the meantime, here’s a track from Vol2 of Notions of Tonality given a remix by Outcast Productions, from a post at Higher Than The Sun here. It’s a slightly more spritely number than the original, as if dosed with a little funk. Lovely.
