Slighter – Adjustments2 (UNKLE)

Another track from breaks artist Slighter’s Adjustments2 remixes album. This time, UNKLE.

The remix is of The Dog Is Black. The original remix was done for a remix competition in January. Of it I said “This is a very restrained remix and that’s rarely something that seems to win comps – sadly in my view. Breaks take second place to a mournful pace of strung out dub. The vocal (by Liela Moss) is allowed a lot of time in the limelight and that adds to the atmospheric feel of the track. If you like UNKLE’s stranger, quieter moments, this is for you.” Slighter’s original mix was 7 minutes. This Edit version has a minute and a half taken off. What remains is still mournful but harder and darker as a result. Quite a different feel from the earlier mix.
