Indidginus – Vajradanti (ft Nona Kalra)

Indidginus (Michael Martin) produced an album – Sofa Surfers – last year which was an intriguing mix of electronica, dubstep, ragga and dub. He’s done further travelling and is going further into bass sounds with his new Sab Kuch Milega EP (trans: you’ll get everything you want) on High Chai Recordings. There’s ragga bass and moombahton. And there’s this track Vajradanti, which mixes classical Indian singing from Nona Kalra (Indian-born but now based in the UK) with some dirty bass and Indian strings.

Redundant factoid: Vajradanti is a herb (Barleria, in English) used in Ayurvedic medicine for strengthening teeth.

Blurb: Indidginus, purveyor of quality riddims since 1996, specializes in dubstep, dub, dancehall and global bass music. His authentic, expressive and eminently danceable live performances draw on his diverse array of influences. Garnering support from BBC Radios 1 & 6, Adrian Sherwood, DJ Fresh (5FM), Liquid Stranger, ill Gates, Red Bull Studios & Rod Azlan (Choice FM/Rinse FM) has prepped him for his first EP with High Chai. Tracks spanning Drumstep, Dubstep & Moombahton pack this unique exploration of deep bass, old school riddims and global vibes.
