Viva Vinyl Villain

If anyone’s ever trawled the stuff at the side of these pages you’ll see a page marked Inspirations. This blog has two. This post is for one of those, the terrifically good and terrifically nice blogger JC who runs the Vinyl Villain. This post is one of a series on blogs today.

Why an Inspiration? A couple of things. First, he showed me that you could write a specialist blog in an entertaining way that people would want to read. Even for the obscure stuff – with Bourgie Bourgie being how I first came across him. Second, he’s a terribly nice man. I’ve only met him the once. And with some trepidation. But he was as good company in real life as he was supportive on line when I was writing ependyparent. This is to hoping that there are many more years of blogging left in him.

If you did a Venn diagram of what JC posts and what I posts you’d find a very small area of overlap (see above). So, what to post? What sits in that elusive area between his mainly 80s indie and my 90s and beyond dance? Only his number 1 song on the 45s at 45 series. And that’s New Order’s Temptation. This cover version by the autoKratz is for you JC.

  1. That is one seriously bald head…

  2. Arrangement is very faithful to the original, but the vocals don’t quite cut it. Even still, a good listen. Cheers.
