Andreas Lindemann – Vivre Comme Un Coq En Pâte
This isn’t out until August but I thought you’d want to hear it. The original mix is a nice summer tech house tune. The real gem here is the Tim Engelhardt remix. Nine minutes of summertime bliss.
Andreas Lindemann is label boss for Playmusic Productions and produces mainly deep house or techno. This release is more on the deep house / tech house end of things, relying on the bass to carry things along. All perfectly pleasant. As for the title – Vivre Comme un Coq En Pate – translates as ‘happy as a cock in paste/pastry’ the French equivalent of ‘Happy as a pig in clover’ in English or ‘Happy as a clam at high tide’ in American. The original version rolls out at 4 minutes. The Tim Engelhardt more than doubles that to nine minutes in a lazy-paced dub mix of equisite dimensions. This is amongst the most sophisticated remixes I’ve heard this year. I was therefore astonished that Tim is only 14. He should be dealing with acne and uncontrolable urges. But no, he’s preparing his debut album. Makes me feel every one of my numerous years.
