Already had the video for the lead track from La Boum Fatale’s new EP – AAA – on Acid Ted tumblr (here) but now here’s a remix of another EP track, Rumple, by 9b0. This is leftfield electronica for free download.
La Boum Fatale are a German duo who only met in 2010 in Hamburg. Their work is a curious mix of downbeat electronica, dub techno, acid and synths. It rather demands to be heard on headphones. The original mix of Rumple is typical of their blended style, with its distant voices, gentle synths and burbling acid squiggles. Really very good. The remix is by Hungarian artist 9b0, whose own work is quite leftfield, often using glitch. This remix gives the original stronger buzzy beats and a dance floor appeal. But ultimately, a restrained track rather than total hedonism.
