Renegade Soundwave – The Phantom
And whilst I’m on a RSW trip, how about some versions of The Phantom. This is a track, originally from 1989 but which seems to have outlasted most of their others. Free download.
The original release has those tinny synthetic drums in common with so much of the late 80s stuff. As if they used biscuit tin lids.
As for new mixes, here’s two. A Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders mix and a Coqui Selection Rework. The former is short and focuses on the syntheticness of the drums with a bit of glitching. The latter brings out the tribal nature of the drums and the underlying funkiness.
