This is a remix from 2008, which Slighter (Colin C) did for LA band Spider Problem. Slighter explains “Hearing their rough demo for the first time I instantly knew what i wanted to do with it and feverishly hit the studio to reconstruct it in a fun big-beat style” (more here). Calling it a big beat remix, which might make some wince given the disrepute into which the genre fell. It’s certainly a mix that marries scuzzy guitars with breaks beats into a driving tune with plenty of highs. You can see why it’s breathless pace and euphoria would be attractive to TV shows. What in the UK we’d think of as Match of the Day music.
My Big Beat remix of the (now defunct) LA band, Spider Problem’s single “Cha Cha”. This one was a big hit with music supervisors in 2010 and 2011, now it’s available here as a FREE DOWNLOAD!
