Timegroove 45 – Tokyo Nights

New, London-based producer Timegroove 45 does a chiming piano-based house track which just about keeps a prog house peaking fetish in check. Nicely uplifting and available for free download.

Timegroove 45 admits to being 21 and living in London but nothing else. So, we subject him to Ted’s Top Ten Quiz from which we find a worrying penchant for Joey Barton, a man who has been convicted twice on charges of violence.

1. Weatherall or Oakenfold? I would say Oakenfold. He made this song called ‘ready steady go’ which was on a TV show called Las Vegas I used to watch.

2. Real instruments or synthesisers? I’m grade 8 on the saxophone however, since I’ve got a bit older its probably synthesizers.

3. Heaven or hell? Hell, I like hot things like chilies.

4. Radley College or Winchester College? Radley

5. Coffee or beer? Whisky beats all, so that’s that.

6. Football or golf? In football I’m a good old-fashioned center back who doesn’t take any prisoners  but to be fair it’s got to be golf as I’m better and its more relaxed!

7. Detroit or Chicago? Don’t really have a preference. Would probably say Detroit as dj sneak comes from Chicago and I’m not too keen on all this beef he is bringing to the table.

8. Newcastle or Sunderland? Newcastle through and through. Joey Barton was my boy until he left, but now we have ba who is killer.

9. 808 or 303? 808, its got that sweet snare that everybody knows and loves.

10. Digital or vinyl? Well, this is interesting because when I was 16 I got my first vinyl decks and learnt for about two years. When my brother turned 21 he gave me his birthday money so I could buy cdj’s, so that was pretty cool of him. Despite loving the cdj’s, I miss the days of ordering records from HDFR (hard to find records), and receiving them 2 months later when they had sourced them. I’ve got some sweet white labels from people like dirty south before they were famous.
