50/Fifty Coming Up: #47 and #48
At #47 and #48, we have more of the early 90s good time house and an example of big beat.
#48 is ACR’s Won’t Stop Loving You (1990). A Certain Ratio had been around since the early 80s but got as badly bitten by acid house as anyone. They did this light but lovely bit of naive house.
Best bit: the opening whoo whoo whoos
ACR – Won’t Stop Loving You (Norman Cook Remix)
At #47, Richard Fearless with his Death In Vegas operation and first single Rocco (1996), showing how you can get guitars and beats into a funky mixture. Love the driving sound of this one.
Best bit: when the choppy guitar comes in at 0.30.
Good pair of choices.
