FUNERALS – Boo Sra (FUNERALS Remix)

I normally go for something quieter on a Sunday. Usually, it’s ambient or downtempo. Today, some minimal techno from Funerals. Free download.

Funerals are a duo from Columbus, Ohio – Casey Immel-Brown and Mollie Wells. The track is taken from an EP of remixes from a range of people. However, this track is their own remix. It revolves around a hissy breathing sample (presumably from Star Wars) and an unsettling mix of thrubbing beats, dub techno and awkward pauses. Me like.

Blurb: Building on the underground rave vibes of our Hypermotion B release last year, Boo Sra Remixes features reworks from four of our most-favorite-ever producers: Deathface, Hissy Fit, Druid Cloak and MikIX The Cat. The EP skitters across genre, from organic bass to jagged industrial techno. We even did our own minimal re-versioning of the track, as a preview of where we’re headed this year: Undulating techno intended for the most far-gone moments of a club’s peak hours. (In other words, when everyone’s drugs finally kick in.)
