50/Fifty Coming Down: #16 and #15

Two classics today from Future Sound of London, Andrew Weatherall and The Orb.

Keiichi Suzuki gets a 1992 remix from The Orb at #16. This is a classic piece of ambient Satellite Serenade, which is probably best known from its appearance on Sasha & Digweed’s Northern Exposure compilation. It features not only a David Attenborough sample but an intro including beats sampled from Tangerine Dream’s Sudden Revelation from their 1987 album Canyon Dreams. This beautiful mix takes its own sweet time getting anywhere and has a watery meandering air. A classic bit of Orb remixing.

At #15, Future Sound of London’s evergreen classic Papua New Guinea from 1991 and featuring another remix from Mr Weatherall.
