Fenech Soler – Maiyu (Lane 8 Remix)
A track from the forthcoming Fenech Soler album gets a Lane 8 downtempo remix. Free download.
It’s been a couple of months since the last Lane 8 tune. Then, it was a lovely bit of downtempo house which sampled Diana Ross. This time, a straight remix for Fenech Soler (an electropop band from Northamptonshire, UK). The original tune (free download below) is a bit of electro dance pop with a singalong chorus. Very fine in its own way. The Lane 8 remix takes it down a more wistful, downtempo path, with the bass and an almost-acid squiggle, rather than the vocals, doing the work. Really very accomplished. Better than the original, perhaps?
