Plaster – Nemesis EP

plaster

A four track EP from Italian duo, Plaster, that is uber dark yet oddly hypnotic.

First up is ‘Walking On Deodron,’ a seriously moody piece of medium-paced electronica, all crunching bass and snarling synths, the rat-a-tat beat upping the creepy vibe. Slightly less neurotic (but not by much) is ‘Alight To The Earth,’ its subtle beat providing the foundation for a myriad of eerie synthetic sounds, haunted and twisting, that bleed in and out. ‘Signals From A Gold Sky’ maintains the paranoia with the muted beat underpinning a series of spaced out, unrelated sounds that gather intensity as the track progresses. Unnerving. Final track, ‘Reflex In The Gloom’ grinds out a virtually beatless mix of agonising synth work that swirls around in a state of such torment and angst, it makes Joy Division seem perky.

Truly the stuff of nightmares.

Blurb: Plaster is an electronic music project that was born in Rome in 2008, comprising of Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri and Giuseppe Carlini. Plaster’s music is mostly characterized by a dark attitude which aims to mix deep beats, ambient and sharped noises. The musical technique is always balanced to the deepness of the sounds and every sound is interpreted as a story itself.
