The Not Just Deep EP featured here a few weeks back, when I said “This music to enjoy being alive for but with that edge of melancholy that stops it being trite. Reback floats by on soft synths, with just a hint of funk. Nice but not the best thing here. That’s The Rain. This has a touch of soul on the vocal but also a little touch of dub techno to keep it grounded. The beats and vocal sample go for a minor key melancholic demeanour. A label to look out for.”
