Jamie XX – Far Nearer (Jack Deezl Edit)
A 2011 release from Jamie XX gets a remix from Jack Deezl. Free download.
The original track is steel drums, offbeat patterns and an almost R&B vocal. Not really my thing. We had Will Lister’s remix back here, which cleverly added Janet Jackson’s vocals to the mix. Hardly an obvious choice but a successful one. Jack Deezl makes the most of the steel drums but makes it a lot more house orientated and gives it a much needed kick in the proverbials.
