Thesis/Vital – Corridors EP

Feeling somewhat fragile after a tough year and with the madness of Christmas fast bearing down, the soothing vibes of this lovely EP are just what I need and about all I can take.

From Thesis, the crisp, rolling beats and breaks of ‘Reflections,’ virtually a hip-hop/drum and bass hybrid, never overwhelm or stifle the lovely synth work, the swooning nature of which soothes away the stresses of the day. Mellowing out even further is Vital with ‘My Island,’ the ethereal ambience of the track cultivated by soft beats, drifting vocal and gentle percussion producing a dreamlike state of unconcerned bliss.

Chilled beats to keep you warm.

Blurb: Newly minted by Jeffrey Haviland and Harmonious Discord’s Sean Anderson, Atrium Digital Recordings was born from a desire to release quality music of a ‘chill out’ nature. Keeping that mission statement in mind, they set the stage nicely with their first release, the Corridors EP, featuring two individual tracks split between British drum n’ bass artist Thesis and label boss Haviland’s own moniker Vital. Thesis gets things rolling with his trip-hop single “Reflections” which is woven from great broken beat patterns, gorgeous synth pads, and lovely keys while Vital rounds out the EP with “My Island,” a deep bass single with soft pads, sparse vocals, and rhythmic guitar plucks.
