Echaskech ‘Sovereign System’ EP
Echaskech are a London electronic duo, from Hackney. So far, so trendy. I’m seeing angular haircuts, facial hair and thick rimmed glasses. But what caught my eye was that they’ve collaborated with Max Cooper. And you know how weak-knee I get over Max. Echaskech’s Sovereign System could be a Max Cooper tune. That’s about as high as praise gets round my kitchen. It’s got that rippling, twisting feeling but with the beats off-centred to leave that slight sense of awkwardness in what is otherwise IDM ambient. This is out mid-July and comes highly recommended.
