mikkelrev – Where I’m At / Bud

This new one on 12-3 Recordings is a bit of a game of two halves. Taking house music in two directions. The better track is Bud. This goes for a dark, dubby excursion, twisting and folding in on itself. Perfect 3am music. Where I’m At is all bright, with a vocal and somehow shiny and superficial.

We’re gladly welcoming some new Swedish talent to the label, as Mikkelrev a.k.a Adam Vesterbacka makes his debut on 12-3 through a deep sided beauty of a two track ep. Adam is an experienced DJ as well as a superb producer, so it makes me more than happy to put his first EP for us out there. The multi-dimensioned, sweet vocal a-side called Where I’m At is a real lil diamond of a track, perfectly followed by the dubby b-side Bud. Pieced together, these two tracks makes this a splendid debut.
