Breaking out the black polo neck jumper

records2

Time for some experimentation. Time for some post rock. Time for some jazz electronics. Time for Ambiq and Polysemy.

Ambiq first. This is post jazz, electronic experimentation from Max Loderbauer, Claudio Puntin and Samuel Rohrer. It isn’t quite as chin-strokey as it sounds. Tund is particularly lovely with its xylophone/kalimba rippling sound. Very mood music with an ambient bent. The album’s being released in remix form in February, with Max Loderbauer: Ricardo Villalobos and Berghain’s Tobias on remix duties.

Polysemy is more post-rock. There’s a shoegaze delay to everything and a dreamlike quality that flirts with the edge of nightmare. Final track, The King’s Stand is the one to go for, with its acoustic guitar dream (a bit Battle of Evermore).
