Nightmares on Wax – Aftermath (HOUSEHOLD//BASSLINE Bootleg)
These days Nightmares on Wax is best now for a string of mid-90s downtempo classics. But before that phase came a lesser known phase doing rave bleepery on Warp Records. Many of these sound thin by today’s standards and haven’t aged well. Of these, probably the best-known is 1990’s Aftermath. It’s had a rework from Household//Bassline.
The original is a bleepy, ravey 303 fest. It’s drums are a bit thin but it does have a deep bass kick. And that’s what Household//Baseline has aimed at in his bootleg. The drums are fuller and there’s lesso f the dates rave references, leaving something jacking the bass.
The original track
Before dominating the game in chill-out and world music, Nightmares on Wax exploded onto the early-90’s UK rave scene with the first worldwide hit for bass music – the classic ‘Aftermath’.
