Downtempo with Lazy Salon and Jamws

A couple of downtempo tracks for this Friday from Lazy Salon and Jamws.

Lazy Salon first. Lazy Salon is Sean Byrne, formerly a drummer for Philadelphia bands Now living in New Jersey. The track Holii is taken from his album Invisible Like Peace, which is out next week. It has that warped indie feel of Caribou or Floating Points. Looped guitar sounds and handclaps vie with synth drone tones.

Jamws provides more contemplative moments on Séance. Jamws is from London and says of the track that it has “Sumatran bells, Resident Evil samples and acoustic guitar shambles.” An apt if unfair description. There are Sumatran bells and that gives it the chilled edge. The guitars are held quite a long way back and simply offer washes of moods. As for the Resident Evil samples, I am bemused. A beautiful track about far way warmer places where the sun continues to shine. Lovely.
