ghe / jaboomstik by creeps #experimental

You’ve had it too easy for too long. Let’s stretch your mind with something that’s a source of constant unsettlement. Here’s Creeps.

Creeps is a decent name for something that is only partly about enjoyment. It is also partly about challenge. Creeps comprises part of taxxess, who featured here a couple of years back. Their debut single is on digital and 7″, which is brave. Even braver are the tracks ghe / jaboomstik. Focus on ghe.

No idea what ghe stands for. But it’s easily the pick of the pair. Opens with a neo-classical air before alien sounds suck the brains from it. Distorted sounds and beats creep in and take over as the whole thing moves towards an industrial sound. Makes it all feel a bit John Hurt. There’s a bit of FSOL in their far out son of lung guise.

As for jaboomstik, Motown pop vies with super fast drum and bass in an Aphex Twin clever joke way that’s too disposable for vinyl. Stick to ghe.
