Blurb: Cid Poitier’s second release on Translation, the Deep Logic EP, is an excursion into the deeper side of experimental sound system music. The London-based producer deftly fuses jungle, dub, and dancehall across a variety of vibes and tempos with a distinctive futuristic, tribal edge. Title track Deep Logic is a nod to late 90s neurofunk with technoid FX, deep subs, and electrifying mid-bass. Kill Sound is a dub-style slow burner that shuffles in and out of a hypnotic blend of 85-170 BPM drum work and thumping bass. Cid Poitier ups the energy with Unity, a modern mashup of jungle and dancehall whose soaring MC vocals and pulsating dub sirens will ignite the dance. Rebel downshifts into 140 BPM territory with a skanking percussive vibe and slithering bassline. Last but not least, The Untouchables make a guest appearance with their hefty remix of Hear Dis from the Afrique EP to end things with a bang. The Deep Logic EP is a testament to Cid Poitier’s versatility and dedication to craft in exploring the full spectrum of sound system music.
