Acid filth: The Yorkshire Acid Invader by Larry Jefferson

As the ever-reliable Sun said in 1988 “Shoot These Evil Acid Barons”. The baron who deserves today’s shooting is Larry Jefferson who is offering today’s naïve youngsters the evil acid temptation of his The Yorkshire Acid Invader EP.

So evil is this EP that it flaunts a shameless four tracks of acid – or should that be ‘tabs’? This thinks it’s so cool to dance to repetitive beats. Has it forgotten the Criminal Justice Act provisions against this? I think we should be told. As a warning to how life will be if you succumb, the title track has a typical acid taker’s wheeze as the central motif. It even uses game sounds to entice the unsuspecting. Let that be a warning to you kids.

Din Sync 3 is darker and bleaker. No Eyes is a more restrained take on acid, gradually drawing itself up over the course of eight minutes. Two Cockneys is a curious closer. Minimal hardcore acid and sampled “acid filth”.  Run yourself around the M25 to this EP or if you’re unfortunate enough to live in the grim North wig out on a moor or whatever.
