Friday is dreaming of the weekend with Ben_mug_pen and Clement Panchout #chill

Two dreamy downtempo electronic tracks from Ben_mug_pen and Clement Panchout. The mood is wistful.

First, Ben_mug_pen with Dreams. This starts with a sample going “It was just that he was all alone. By himself. Never anyone to share the game. A man who lived in dreams.” This does rather describe the act of blogging, which is a solitary activity for me. But it’s also a wonderfully desolate way to start a track. What follows musically is perfectly suited. A chugging, slightly trip hop, air permeates the tack with mournful keys. Wonderfully depressing.

Secondly, Clement Panchout with Devotion. This is the original soundtrack of the Devotion horror game – I’m not a gamer so this name means nothing to me. All too often game soundtracks don’t work in isolation from the visual stimuli of the game. But Devotion bucks that norm. Equally as dreamy as the first track, this doesn’t give a hint of a horror association. It’s a wistfully woozy electronic track, full of essential somnolence.
