Cozmic Cat – From Jozi With Love

I spent a month in Jozi a few years back, which was fascinating if worrying about where South Africa was headed. This tune – From Jozi with Love – from Cozmic Cat marries some classic house sounds to African voices to give something sinuously funky. This reflects her varied background and gives both elements a fresh appeal.

 

Blurb: Toronto based Cozmic Cat is a veteran dj and Producer who brings a decade of music appreciation to the mix with a discerning ear and a global soul. As a child she grew up in East Africa, Canada and the South Pacific, where she was infused with global rhythms and universal sounds . As an adult she honed her dj skills in funk , hiphop, rare groove and house music , living and spinning in Philly. She absorbed the culture and sounds of Philly , NYC and DC holding down several nightclub residencies and learning the art of dj-ing and music production. From humble beginnings, Coz has now spun globally as a dj ( E.U, USA, Canada, Australia, S.Africa..) , and mixes current, past and future sounds with her classic house roots.
