Monoman – Body Politic #electronic #loops

A return from Monoman with the atypical but damn good Body Politic. A big sprawling loveable cornucopia of a track bubbling with ideas, styles and loops. This has a bit of the Coldcut sampladelica approach at the start, with martial drums, double bass and frantic vocal samples. Half way through trumpets are allowed into the mix before your expectations are confounded by some squelching bass that verges on the dubstep. A really inventive track that plays liberally with your expectations.

Blurb: Body Politic showcases Ben’s love for loops, repetition and sampling. A progressive and uplifting piece, driven by rolling drum breaks, world percussion and a smooth bass line. The track progresses with the addition of strings and a change of groove before bursting into a half time section of gnarly bass synths and aggressive drums. This is again contrasted by a refrain which draws the focus back to the original groove.
