Keerd and benhurzz deliver leftfield pleasures #house #breaks #electronic #melodic

Let’s start the week with a couple of leftfield but gorgeously melodic tunes from Keerd and benhurzz.

Keerd from the US first. Ancient Lake is from his Manor EP. It’s a downtempo tunes but filled with throbbing synths and melodic breaks that give it a dreamy but never settled quality. There’s a brooding undertow of bass that gives a depth and swirl to the tune. He says it’s “a dreamy reflection of the joy my friends and family have brought me over the last 2 years.”

Next, benhurzz. From Ireland he offers Sky Pillars. This also has a calming dreamy sense to it. But it also has a spring to its step with the loping hip hop funk that weaves its way through the tune. Hip hop may be an urban art form but benhurzz describes this as nature hop. And there is a natural organicness that speaks of hills and fields, not the concrete jungle. Drift away.
