Childhood Memories Canto De La Luna #house #chill #electronic

Memories of childhood in chilled house from Hokum Tribe and Mosjjoy.

The big apple tree in the garden. My grandfather painfully coming down the steps to the house. My father fussing around him. The great dane and dachshund at the nursery. The aluminium alloy cutlery at school left over from the war. Tressle tables for lunch. Pushing coins in the phone box. The shock of brown faces. Janet and John. Victorian pennies clinking on the way to the newsagent. Hopping fro foot to foot waiting for the TV to warm up. Those are mine.

Hokum Tribe offers Childhood Memories on his new track. A sombre, slightly melancholic crunch of awkward bloops, guitar fragments and beats. This has a slow pace, as if trying hard to remember what was as the present overwhelms the past. There’s a  bit of 70s guitar noodliness to this that’s good for the sense of days gone by. A psychedelic wonder at the world with the beats allowing today’s reality to intrude.

Canto De La Luna is the track from Peru’s Mosjjoy. A downtempo electronic gem but with romance in its soul. A set of aching strings set alongside soft beats and rhodes synths. The South American pan pipes make an appearance but are subtly done.  This is no cheap yoga chill track. The beats offer a gentle hip swinging thrill. A balmy evening dleight.
