Techno twosome from Dystopian Soundscapes and Kylo #techno #electronic

Two techno tunes from Dystopian Soundscapes and Kylo.

Canada’s Dystopian Soundscapes offers a sombre affair on Ikigai. Taken from the album Kogosei. Ikigai (生き甲斐,) is a Japanese term for “a reason for being.” An ambient techno mood fills the endless chords and loops accompanied by sounds of bullet trains, stations and street sounds. It’s all a bit as if seen in a dream, encompassing a slightly out of body experience to it all.

Kylo from the USA brings us the debut and self-referential Kylo. But it’s hard to complain too much when the track’s a bit of a top notch pumper thumper.  This is a cheery affair underpinned by a buzzy, dark bass line. Gives the track a grounded, solid approach that stops the synths ever getting to carried away with themselves. Techno drone done just right.
