Embrace, Explore and Excite with: Purchase – Green Butterfly #downtempo #chill #electronic

Embrace, explore and excite is the strap line for Purchase’s new album R. And that’s as good a motto as any to have – though I’m not one for the man hug. All a bit too tactile and risking emotion for my Englishness. A brief firm handshake please. Or preferably a slight nod of the head. Less is more eh? Meanwhile let’s have Green Butterfly, the opening track from Purchase’s album. This is a lovely chill IDM thing from the Iowa City resident. It balances a bit of Eastern scales with a lovely buzzing bass. Perfect yin and yang. Allows the track to have chiming synths that run free with beats that veer towards breakbeat. Such an optimistic start to the day.
