Let’s go back to the future with Dark & Stormy (aka John Morabito). Five minutes of minimal raw throbbing techno on Wooden Leg. He’s from the USA but the sound is all very early 90s Germany. And that’s a good thing. The track has a pulsing strobing quality. It’s less the sturm und drang than the oncoming menace. The electronics fizz with the rawness of being recorded live. It’s about the mix of beats and bass. It’s out of the way clubs and darkened back rooms. Still sounds like our dystopian future.
