Let’s quirk: Tied Up EP by Teaganbear #Experimental #Electronic

Let’s get quirky with Canadian Teaganbear and his Tied Up EP from the back end of last year. It’s a three track affair of leftfield electronics. Opener but the bagpipe didn’t say no! is a bass ridden electronic funk track that gives a 70s in outer space kind of vibe. The title is presumably taken from the Shel Silverstein poem of the same name. And that Edward Lear vibe of everything being a bit off-kilter suffuses this EP.

The Dishwasher takes a house template and plays around with it into a wandering electro synth ditty. It’s a skittering blipping and blooping that revels in its 80s stylings. The final track is Stillness. It isn’t the ambient drone you might expect. It’s a slow bass journey with an almost orchestral carapace.

Take a break from the norm with this EP. Available on Bandcamp.
