Australia’s sad face. returns with a track from new album sf. It’s the downtempo melancholy you’ve come to expect. And it’s all the better for it.

The track is eve. It start with an almost piano intro that surrounds itself with found sound. This then develops into wood block beats. sad face. says, “I started with the acoustic guitar and I recorded it during summer so a lot of cicadas bled into the mic. I quite liked the sound and feeling it evoked so I decided to leave it in and shape the song around that vibe.”

The track dances across the happy / sad divide with the guitar strumming away alongside some piano and ethereal heavily manipulated vocal element. The beats verge almost into garage of the early Burial type. And you realise that the miserabilist tables have been turned on you and it’s really a happy track that’s loving life.
