Chilling with Cirrus: Boy-ish – Cloud chasing #Chill #Downtempo #LoFi

There was a bit of late autumn sun today. And some lovely clouds as the sun was setting. Here’s a meteorologically appropriate track Cloud Chasing from Canada’s Boy-ish.

Boy-ish is Mark Berg from Victoria in British Columbia. He describes his work as a playground of sound. There’s bits of chill, some downtempo and an offbeat pop sensibility at work. All of that apparent on Cloud chasing.

Boy-ish says the track is, “Trying to capture the feeling of chasing clouds.” Not sure how you do that. I just love to watch and stare as the morph and pass by. The tune is sky high piano and electronic floating elements. The beats are spare and almost dubbed. A bit of warped ethereal vocal and guitar add to the airy scene. No lowering cumulo nimbus here, this is wispy cirrus and a bit of flattened stratus.

How do you like your clouds?
