Thursday Techno triple from: Jake Kaiser, Reset Robot, and SiLVA #Techno #MelodicTechno #DeepHouse @PurifiedRec @jakekaisermusic @ResetRobot

Your Pre-Friday gets a boost with a triple techno bill from Jake Kaiser, Reset Robot, and SiLVA.

San Francisco’s Jake Kaiser makes a welcome return after a bit of a gap with Moss on Nora En Pure’s Label Purified Records from his Hidden Spaces release. He’s back in his happy place of mixing deep, progressive and melodic techno to fabulous effect.

Moss pulls off that trick of being both fresh and approachable. The beats are part way between deep house and techno. The synths slither on top making everything interesting and engaging as they ripple along. It has a deeply euphoric twist without feeling the need to really go for starburst peaks. Moss can’t help but put a smile on your face (or that of your local Dewback).

Lie in bliss or get up and frug. This is delivering endorphins either way.

And so to Portsmouth and Reset Robot. This is the alter ego of UK producer, engineer, and DJ Dave Robertson. His work has a dark and moody quality – which obvs I love. And that’s in full effect on Tired Voice from his new EP of the same name on Poker Flat Recordings.

Tired Voice is an odd title. Yes, there’s a bit of a minimal techno thing going on here. But fatigue is very much not in evidence. It’s an eight minute wander through restrained beats. The focus though is on a bloopy Moog synth line that chugs its way through the track. Reset Robot says that the “track was written after I got my Moog Matriarch. The main synth line and bass were both done on that and I love how they sound. It can be quite inspiring when you get your hands on a fresh piece of kit in the studio.”

It’s all terribly hypnotic in its effect, with a bit of acid tendencies, despite not quite being locked into a groove. Classy.

SiLVA (Candace Silva-Torres) is a producer, DJ, host and radio personality from Los Angeles. Here’s new track Elevate Us on the Lots of Practice label.

The track is a deceptive one. The opening shimmers with old school House sounds and a bit of a disco feel. But it soon elevates itself away from that and towards something a bit darker, a bit more techno, occasionally even trance-ish. And a whole heap more ACIIIID and 303 driven. The beats become more intense and this screams off into the night and onto the dance floor. Elevate Us is one of those lose-yourself-in-the-club tracks for a properly messy experience.

I’ve no idea who you are SiLVA but I love what you do.
