Bubbly House from: Überhaupt & Außerdem – Champagne Society #House #OrganicHouse #Techno

A dark week economically deserves a dark start with a fizzing Techno House track from Überhaupt & Außerdem. A suitable backdrop to today’s tricky Chancellorial statement.

Überhaupt & Außerdem are Philipp and Andreas, children of the German reunification. One is from the East and one from the West. They claim that they’re “Twin brothers from other mothers – born on the same day in the same year, share the same shoe size.” They now make music in Berlin. Their name seems to translate as ‘anyhow and besides.’

Here’s Champagne Society from the Directions EP. This track is a bit organic House, some leftfield House and a dollop of Techno. It has a handclap opening that is overtaken by a brooding bass line that offers an oily gloom.

Synths bubble around with a fizzing intensity but the austerity of the bass is market leader here. It remains in lockstep with an after party announcement mood of gloom and despair. All that’s missing is the lettuce.

Superbly dark Techno House track that’s the throbbing incessant hangover from the night before.
