Where does the time go? It’s been three years since we last had three9four here.
American three9four doesn’t really offer a bio. what you get is “The numbers mean something, which reflects the start point on a magical musical highway, paved with good living on the three of the world’s continents. That journey, salted with an audiophile mother and peppered with exposure to a spectrum of musical timbres is responsible for the souffle that is three9four’s music”
Today’s souffle is a Psydub track that’s puffed up with a bit of ambient. It’s called Interstellar Seas. This is dark expanses of open space. Or is it..?
Bass lines throb with orchestral doom. Breaths come hard and heavy. Combined they give the Psydub sense. There are melodies but they’re chopped down before they emerge fully formed. This is a whirling mass of ideas and sounds. It delivers a complex, stimulating blend of tones and beats. It’s a constantly rolling melange of noise, music, and darkness.
As three9four says, “Typically “interstellar” refers to the space in the universe between stars, thought of as quiet and uninviting. But now we know this region is teaming with activity, and the track represents the sea of dark energy, light, and wind cascading through the vastness of space.”
The space in between is where the action is, and where you need to dive into this journey into sound.
