Friday night melodic techno with: Rico B.Z.H & B35Music, and FØNNABU

Some dance floor friendly sounds from Rico B.Z.H & B35Music, and FØNNABU with the emphasis on melodic techno and a wee bit of progressive house lurking in the shadows.

Rico B.Z.H & B35Music from France offer Invite-à-Sion. This is the more progressive house sounding of the two tracks on offer tonight.

The invite is to a party of beautiful things. There’s a stabbing to the keyboards that gives this a touch of an updated piano house sound. The rolling bass has that synth feel like Daft Punk crossed with JMJ. Everything is cool. Everything is uplifting.

Hands in the air moments arrive, as they must with this sort of track. And that certainty adds, rather than detracts from the moment.

A glitter ball twirl of a track.

FØNNABU is a producer from Poland. His reference points are Ben Böhmer, Stephan Bodzin, Anyma, ARTBAT, Tale of Us, Joris Voorn. And that’s reflected in Omega which is both dark melodic techno but also accessible.

Omega opens largely on a beats and bass basis. That air of oppressive darkness underpins but doesn’t overwhelm the track. This is due to a melody that weaves its way in giving the track a certain lightness. And that’s despite the doom laden World of Warcraft vocal sample about planetary reorigination.

A great late night dark melodic techno track.
