Ambient Sunday with: Justin Robertson, and lofi cassette

Ambient Sunday with gentle drone and some chill from Justin Robertson (not that one) and Yannick Mueller.

This Justin Robertson is originally from Southwest Louisiana and now lives on California’s central coast. His work is in the drone, meditative and ASMR area.

Here’s new track Morning Pearl. This is more a soundscape than a track as such. It’s a gentle slow reverberating set of electronic tones that have a gentle iridescent shimmer.

Half way through there’s a pause that is like a drawing of breath before the tones come up and start of tumble again. Utterly calming.

After something so chilled, something which sounds bracingly upbeat by contrast. Lofi cassette may be Adrian Ispasescu but otherwise offers nothing by way of biog.

Let’s concentrate on warmth of the past taken from new album nostalgic bounce. This is lofi chill but with a warming analogue feel. The beats are pleasingly primitive but it’s the organic melodies and hints of 90s acts like Ultramarine that catch the ear.

This is gently groovy and totally satisfying. A warming way to end your Sunday.
