Early morning progressive breaks with: The Ocean Beneath – Sunrise

BITD, the afters were as important to me as the club. The lazy chilled euphoria of the sun coming up before you’d gone to bed. Here’s The Ocean Beneath to perfectly capture that feeling on the prog breaks / techno delights of Sunrise.

The Ocean Beneath is an electronic producer from Leeds, UK. Of Sunrise he says “the calm after the storm, the 4am chillout as the party comes down. Inspired by time in Ibiza, this is the sound of Sunrise on the island.”

That description is spot on. The track opens with some almost breakbeats before chilled but euphoric synth melodies take over. A bit of ethereal wailing accompanies. And it’s wave your hands in the air in sun salutation before you know it.

This tune had a cheeky half a couple of hours ago and is struggling to come down. It’s just as well there are some chunky beats coming along to get that last of the night before out of your soul. A whole chunk of the loved up 90s mixed into a single track – think of this as a companion piece to FSOL’s Papua New Guinea.

You may not have been there that night but with this track you can believe you were.
