Tuesday techno with: Bruno Bleckmann – The Bridge
I know the week’s only just started but let’s power on towards midweek with some suitably stern and demanding techno from Bruno Bleckmann.
Bruno Bleckmann is from Düsseldorf, Germany. I don’t really know any more than that. Here’s The Bridge from last years Bleck Way EP of which he says “My first release after a decade of refusing going viral.”
No surprise this went viral. This is archetypal German techno. Some wonderfully austere sounds. A little wobbly acid. Lots of pumping synth work.
But what makes this track is that it has all manner of suggestions of the 90s but without ever being a retro track. This has far too much energy, verve and bounce to be a throwback.
The beats rampage along without needing a full on aural assault. The synths jump around like gamboling lambs. It’s all serious on the outside but laughing inside. This has a total love of life. A dark track that delights in you throwing shapes.
Give in to the beat. Take to the dance floor. Tuesday be damned.
