DnB meets IDM with: 3ORG – dail

it’s the end of the week so let’s have something a bit different and thought provoking from 3ORG who mixes drum and bass and IDM.

3ORG from Fruita, CO, United States is described thus, “aka Elijah Matthew Borg Brain sounds “3ORG is my conviction in the intrinsic value of sound. It’s okay to fail. It’s hard to replicate the sounds in our heads, nonetheless turn it into music. It’s hard to paint brainwaves.”

I love what’s going on in his head on dail from the album serendipity. It has a bunch of seemingly random machine noises mixed with shuffly sort of drum and bass beats. But it’s all topped with heavenly angelic melodies.

Squirts of bass interplay with tinkling chimes. It’s all terribly lovely one moment and then dystopianly urban the next.

There’s obviously a connection to people liked Aphex Twin but 3ORG is also out there on his own in space. And you gotta admire that conviction, especially when it produces such a winner.
